"I would have no hesitation recommending them for future work"
The Whiteway Centre is a charity run community centre in the picturesque village of Rottingdean on the outskirts of Brighton.
We were asked to replace a variety of fire doorsets within the centre and replace an old sliding door with a fire and soundproof wall.
In order to reduce the costs for the charity, we manufactured these doorsets following the field of application of the door blank manufacturer. Although these doorsets were manufactured outside of the BM Trada Q-Mark manufacturing scheme, we were able to install them under the BM Trada Q-Mark Fire Door Installation Scheme as we held evidence to prove that we manufactured them according to the test data.
Due to the mobility issues of some of the users of the centre, we used the services of Fire Door Controls to install hold open devices linked to the fire alarm to allow the doors to be held open throughout the day and close automatically in the event of the alarm being activated.
There were 9 fire doorset installations in total in a variety of double, single and leaf and a half configurations.
The result is improved compliance for The Whiteway Centre with attractive modern doors that will function as intended in the event of a fire whilst remaining accessible for all.
